The list of stars joining Mike in this week’s show also includes The New Boys, Robin Thicke. Erika Badu, New Kids on The Block, Kevin Rudolf and Nelly

Mike Sherman with DMC and Mack at Night from Y100 radio station

Miami, FL – “On the Mike with Mike Sherman”, the premier music and lifestyle celebrity-driven TV show, goes one on one with some of the biggest names in music in this week’s show, covering – as always - the best events in entertainment.

Mike was able to go one on one with premier boy band from the 80's and 90's - the rejuvenated New Kids On The Block whilst on their north American tour.

Joey McCantry and Jordan Knight talking with Mike Sherman

In this week’s show, Mike also talks to Joey McCantrye and Jordan about what it’s like to perform at Radio City Music Hall and to be making great music again. The band performs some of their new hits in front of a sell-out crowd at the Filmore theatre, Miami Beach, Florida.

Meanwhile, Mike's correspondent, Natalie Culliar, stops by to meet with the ever so talented and, at times, controversial Erika Badu. She discusses her new album and her views on politics, life and music. But, obviously, the fun doesn't stop there.

From left to right: Mack at Night on-air personality from Y100,
UK pop star, Jay Sean, and US pop and rock star, Kevin Rudolf.

Mike’s other correspondent - "Mack at night" from Clear Channel’s Y100 - catches up with pop and rock sensation, Kevin Rudolf, right before he performs in front of thousands of screaming fans at Sun Life Stadium. The concert also features performances from hip hop sensation Nelly and The New Boys.

Then Mike Sherman and Mack from Y100 were guest celebrities at this year’s Home Safe charity event for homeless and foster children. This year’s Master of Ceremonies for the event was DMC from the legendary hip hop group, Run DMC, and the chairman of this outstanding foundation is rock ‘n roll hall of famer, the magnificent saxophone player from one of the best rock bands of all time: Clarence Clemons from The Bruce Springstein & The E Street Band. Clarence talks about how Home Safe has been such a significant blessing to assist and find homes for these less fortunate kids and how the foundation is growing every year. Plus, Max Weinberg from the Conan O’Brien Show and Steve Van Zandt from the band all shared there views about this great charity.

To wrap up the show, Mike's Las Vegas correspondent, Cameron Miller, attends this year’s 2010 Playboy Playmate of the Year Party from the beautiful Palms Hotel where he interviews all of this year’s playmates. The party includes an exclusive live performance from R&B heart throb, Robin Thicke.

“That’s a tough job Cameron – but somebody had to do it!” says Mike Sherman. “This week’s show is going to be a blast, so don’t miss it - Saturday night on MY33 – check your local listings.”

Marc Koska, OBE, Launches the LifeSaver Campaign

.
LifeSaverAction- a unique guarantee of a safe injection

East Sussex - Philanthropist, social entrepreneur and inventor, Marc Koska, OBE, recently launched the LifeSaver campaign:

Public Service Announcement: “When Recycling Kills”
(filmed by Marc in India several weeks ago).

When Recycling Kills

LifeSaver is a campaign that is inviting all global AD (auto-disable) syringe manufacturers to include the new LifeSaver logo and message: "New Packet. Used Once. Safely Disposed" on all their packaging. LifeSaver represents the procedure given by a health worker and received by a patient, and can be simply adopted, free of charge, by any organisation. The logo is distinctive and easily recognized, and will act as a unique guarantee of a safe injection.

Marc Koska: "The question to you is simple: Would you want to have an injection with a clean sterile syringe or a used dirty one? Exactly, and so would everyone else! Please send this video link to as many people as you can so that they become aware of this issue. Please help me get millions of hits recorded on YouTube! Thanks!"

Marc Koska,OBE

About Marc Koska, OBE

In 1984, Marc Koska read an article that predicted HIV would spread widely through unsafe injections, so he decided to do something about it. Sadly, the prediction turned out to be true: the re-use of syringes now accounts for 1.3 million deaths a year which is even more than malaria. Today, Marc's solution to the problem is the K1 syringe which locks after use, thus preventing reuse. It is in use by millions. In 2005, he founded a nonprofit, SafePoint , which aims to educate people in the developing world about the dangers of reusing any instruments that come into contact with blood. And in 2010, he founded LifeSaver.

Print Manager Plus 2010 – An Integral Part of Corporate and Institutional Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Systems

An additional level of security is provided by Print Manager Plus 2010® from Software Shelf International

Palo Alto, California, Clearwater, Florida, and London, England - Loss of large volumes of protected corporate and institutional information continues to reach headlines, forcing companies to re-issue security cards, send apologetic notifications to customers, settle up lawsuits and mitigate loss of confidence and goodwill from increasing negative publicity.

Many companies now fall under the oversight of government and commercial regulations that mandate controls over corporate and customer information. Some of these regulations stipulate routine information technology audits, which can fail if corporations and institutions lack sufficient data security controls.

Company reliance on enterprise resource planning ERP software can find compliance especially challenging and significant penalties continue to be mandated in the event of a breach.

Print Manager Plus 2010, from Software shelf International http://www.softwareshelf.com provides an additional level of security and data loss prevention and is used by some of the largest government agencies, corporations and institutions in the world.

“The big hole in Data Loss Prevention has to do with uncontrolled and usually unrestricted printing,” according to Software Shelf CEO, Bill Feeley. “Print Manager Plus 2010 fills this need and is the most robust and least expensive solution available on the market today.”

Print Manager Plus 2010 can quickly set Quotas and Restrictions on a single or multiple users, user groups, and organizational units. Restrictions can be set directly on a printer or group of printers. Default settings can be turned on for new Users, and Printers added to the Active Directory.

According to Feeley, if a print job has been denied because of a preset data restriction or a printing quota has been met, Print Manager Plus 2010 can automatically be set to pause the print job or delete it. Pop-Up messages can then be automatically sent to the user’s workstation explaining why the print job was denied and requiring the user to obtain authorization to continue.

New security-related features enable easy compliance to regulations such as HIPAA security rules and similar rules of UK and European Data Protection regulations, as well as Sarbanes Oxley in the US.

Print Manager Plus 2010 not only makes printing 100 percent more efficient and secure, it enables fast, state-of-the-art print controls and accounting, significant reductions of waste and increased cost savings – all while dramatically lowering IT and hardware resource requirements and increasing Date Loss Protection for any organization.

Marking a milestone in the development of all print management solutions, Print Manager Plus 2010 eliminates the need to deploy complex and expensive hardware solutions. In fact, Print Manager Plus 2010 is the only fully functional all-software solution available supporting all printers, plotters and multifunctional devices on the market today and all Microsoft, Macintosh, Unix, and Linux operating systems – and it does so at a fraction of the cost of any other IT product available.

Print Manager Plus is a Green product featured by ‘Guide Me Green’ as software that is saving 150,000 trees every month due to the paper savings it achieves for its customers throughout the world.

ASOS to launch online marketplace

ASOS Marketplace will allow customers to recycle their wardrobes. Small businesses and independent labels will also be able to sell their latest lines.

London - Fashionistas looking to give their wardrobe a makeover will soon be able to trade trousers, deal in dresses and barter on bags thanks to a new virtual marketplace from ASOS plc, the UK’s leading online fashion store.

ASOS is in the advanced stages of preparing to launch an online marketplace platform providing customers with a channel to sell their own clothes. In addition, small independent businesses will be able to promote their fashion products, as well as offering larger companies another sales channel for brands or to market excess stock.

Customers putting their clothes up for sale online will also be given advice from ASOS’s expert team on how to display their items to maximise selling potential.

It is anticipated that the ASOS Marketplace will launch later this year and the initiative is one of a number of projects currently in progress to extend the company’s offering to its fast-growing customer base.

Nick Robertson, Chief Executive of ASOS, said:

“This is an exciting extension to ASOS’s existing customer offer which makes perfect sense in today’s market. This is a sellers’ platform. We will start simply and continually improve the platform over time. Our sellers will shape its future.

“With this initiative, we are able to offer both individual and corporate customers an additional channel to sell their fashion merchandise in an environment, and in front of a customer, that is all about fashion.”

Marketing and Advertising Agency for Charities and Not-For-Profits, The Help Agency, Launches in London.

New Charity and Not-For-Profit marketing and advertising agency to share profits as donations.

London
- The Help Agency announces its launch today with a strong line up of communication experts, dedicated to helping the UK’s Charity and Not-For-Profit sectors with communication, branding and fundraising campaigns and a brand new idea of profit sharing with clients.

The company has launched with new premises, a new team and a professed new way of doing business.

The team is essentially looking to create top-drawer marketing and fundraising solutions in partnership with non-profits and charities with a moral imperative to generate maximum efficiencies in execution.

The Help Agency: Hugh Dennis, Dean Hodgetts, Andy Wakefield
image: marketingweek.co.uk

This is a company dedicated to helping those that exist to help others. That means charities and not-for-profits only.

“The effectiveness of our work will come from helping to develop Charity and NFP brands from a more positive perspective – ensuring people become more engaged rather than turn away. Our dedicated, 100% focus on this sector will mean our values and drive for results will be completely in alignment with Charities and NFPs.” comments Andy Wakefield the Creative Director of The Help Agency.

The company will be producing fundraising campaigns, Internet solutions, branding, advertising, direct marketing and new product and service development. These campaigns will have at their heart a desire for improved return on budget investment.

Apart from only targeting and working in this sector, there is one key difference that is a real innovation which the agency believes will generate the feeling of partnership rather than mutual respect: sharing in success.

Profit sharing
The Help Agency will also keep their books transparent to clients. Not only that, they will be sharing profits with clients at the end of their financial year. 50% of profit generated will be given away as charitable donations in a way that maximises the tax efficiency on those donations.

“The drive to generate a return ensures we can grow but it also gives us an ongoing motivation to be pushing for efficiency at every opportunity, on every project. In this sector perhaps more than any, efficiency is absolutely vital. Our openness and profit sharing gives clients permission to trust our motivations and to see benefits coming back to them as a result of the success generated between us,” added Dean Hodgetts, Managing Director.

Hugh Dennis – the TV actor and comedian – is a founding director and will initially be playing a non-executive role in the agency. He commented, “It’s great that we can focus our effort on helping people who have decided to help others.”

The Help Agency is currently in the process of setting up meetings with charities and non-profits to discuss projects.

The Help Agency: Key facts at a glance
  • A complete communications team dedicated to the help sector
  • An attitude of looking beyond the usual communication routes
  • Financially transparent and shares profits as donations
  • Increased clarity and insights to drive new fundraising and commercial ideas
  • A passion to save money by discovering and developing new efficiencies
  • ROI focused solutions on the communication budget
  • A force of allied partnerships
  • The ability to deliver across all platforms: advertising; data driven; event management; internet

Team
Many of the new team at the Help agency have produced campaigns for the care and non-profit sectors. This new direction places the emphasis of working with organisations whose primary aims are driven by a conviction to help and provide services for others. The company will not be working in other sectors or helping commercial companies with their ethical policies and campaigns.

Partners
The company has set up a number of favourable agreements with specialist companies in the area of data management, media purchasing, origination services and production services ensuring the right balance of outsourcing to maintain optimum efficiency for client projects.

Directors
Andy Wakefield (Creative): Andy has worked in big, medium and small agencies for over 20 years where he has risen from Art Director to Creative Director.

He has been awarded by all of the major professional bodies including D&AD, New York Festival and Cannes, and has also sat on creative award juries. During this time, he worked on National Children's Homes and The National Society For Epilepsy. More recently he has worked for TK Maxx where he had the privilege to work with Comic Relief, Woodland Trust and Cancer Research UK.

Dean Hodgetts (Managing): Having learned his trade in the big multinational agency groups, Dean has run a highly successful integrated agency for 10 years. A natural communication polymath, his natural curiosity has given him the insight and expertise to help clients unlock consumer response from both off and online communication programmes.
This helping of care-based clients particularly inspired him to take a leap forward in his convictions to help those that help others.

Hugh Dennis (Non-executive): Although now best known as an actor (Outnumbered) and a comedian (Mock the Week, The Now Show) Hugh began his career as a Unilever Marketer, running multi-million pound brands such as Mentadent, and Lynx Deodorant. He therefore has wide strategic marketing experience coupled with a creative head. He is a committed supporter of the charity sector.

Mike Girling (Commercial): Mike has been the Sales and Marketing Director of several blue chip companies. Mike spends his spare time being a Trustee and a Director of a Charitable Trust that runs a chain of care homes. He passionately believes in people, with all their foibles. He has a unique ability to ask the right questions in business situations and help create frameworks for success.

About The Help Agency
