Outstanding Young Graduate of Sussex Rock School Gains Place at Chichester College

Louis Forte

15 year old Louis Forte, graduate of the Sussex Rock School, has become an exceptional player and performer.

Sussex: The latest graduate of the Sussex Rock School has gained a place at Chichester College to continue his studies in guitar and popular music even though he is officially too young to be offered a place.

Louis Forte joined the Sussex Rock School for guitar and band tuition in October 2009 and since then has become an exceptional player and performer. He has played in gigs at least twice a year since December 2009 and was the star performer in December 2011 and this year in March.

At his audition, his talent alone caused the examiner to exclaim that “Louis was the best level 2 interview he had ever given and that Louis is already Level 3”.

Louis will study for the Pop Music Diploma at Chichester College and then go for a place on the Level 3 songwriting course at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM). When asked what he hopes to achieve, Louis said “I want to be a successful Singer/songwriter/guitar-player with my own band.” He added, "I am extremely grateful to Sussex Rock School for its guidance, tutoring and the amazing experiences playing live".

The Sussex Rock School is the longest running music school in the south east, celebrating its 18th birthday this year and continuing to offer lessons in guitar, bass, drums, vocals and keyboards to students of all ages in all kinds of popular music. There are live gigs each term and students are encouraged and given the opportunity to perform in them. Some students do Rock school examinations and many go on to take courses in popular music at well-known academies in London, Brighton, Chichester, Guildford and elsewhere.
