KableKache Cable Organizer Arrives!

KableKache arrives at a packed press conference held in the executive suite of Untangle Towers in the heart of financial London today, Lord Phooop KableKache, head of the KableKache Nation, announced the arrival of the first KableKaches to arrive on our cable-tangled shores - shores where tangled cables lie like seaweed behind every TV, computer and around every smartphone.

“KableKache are so simple to use,” Lord Phooop said, “Insert a loop of any suitable wire into KableKache... and wind it in.”

“Our MISSION,” explained Lord Phooop, “is to get the disorderly tangles of your billions and jazillions of messy cable and wire tangles messing up this lovely world of yours under your TVs and computers and around your lamps, all rolled up inside us, neat, tidy and protected from dust and dogs and babies in our lithe and svelte oval form that is such fun to play with – and costs practically nothing.”

Selling for between £1 and £2 depending on size, KABLEKACHE comes in all sorts of shapes and colors to suite your décor, your hair or your nail varnish and in addition to sitting under your TV or behind your computer, they are Apple-stylish enough to be worn also.

The press conference began with Lord Phooop introducing himself. “My name is Phooop (three "o"s) which is the sort of noise which a vacuum cleaner makes when it sucks up an egg (without its shell) when the egg has fallen in a mess on the kitchen floor. We of the KableKache Nation are quite like vacuum cleaners, but they do dust, while we do wires and cables and anything flexible = which they can't do because long flexible things clog up their tubes, you see?”

When he was asked why KableKaches have arrived, Phooop responded, “But you ask me that? Aren't you EMBARRASSED by those terrible – terrible - messes of wires everywhere in your homes, your offices and even in your Louis Vuitton handbags and Hermes briefcases?- I mean, those cable messes make a rat's nest look neat! How can you even show your face in public knowing the truly Terrible mess of cables you are sitting on at home?

Before and After using KableKache
KableKache are now available on Amazon and will be in the shops before Christmas. Walmart and other major retailers are now evaluating KableKache. Their elegant patent-pending design is the easiest and least expensive way to neaten up cables.

Exclusively-Nikon Grays of Westminster Becomes the First Camera Shop in the World to be Granted a Coat of Arms

Mr. Robert Noel, Lancaster Herald of Her Majesty's College of Arms, presented the Coat of Arms to Gray Levett, founder of Grays of Westminster at a celebratory dinner held at the Institute of Directors in Pall Mall, London on 29th October 2014.

London - Grays of Westminster, the multi-award winning, exclusively-Nikon camera shop, renowned world-wide for its exemplary level of customer service, has become the first camera shop in the world to be granted a Coat of Arms.

Mr. Robert Noel, Lancaster Herald of Her Majesty's College of Arms, presented the Coat of Arms to Gray Levett, founder of Grays of Westminster at a celebratory dinner held at the Institute of Directors in Pall Mall, London on 29th October 2014.

The Grays of Westminster Coat of Arms: "Lead in Order to Serve"
Distinguished guests at the dinner included Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs, who gave the introduction, Mike Maloney OBE, Britain’s most decorated press photographer, representatives from Nikon Japan, Nikon UK and Nikon Germany, as well as journalists from the national and photographic press. Also joining the celebration were a number of Grays of Westminster’s clients, several of whom had travelled from Australia and Dubai to be part of the celebration.

Grays of Westminster founder, Gray Levett
For any person or organisation to have a legal right to a Coat of Arms, it has to be granted to them by England’s Earl Marshal, the 18th Duke of Norfolk, through the Herald at the College of Arms in London. Heralds are appointed by The Queen and are delegated to act on her behalf in all concerns of heraldry and the granting of new Coats of Arms. To be the recipient of this honour, the criteria that is taken into account before a Coat of Arms is granted might include awards or honours from the Crown, public and charitable services or eminence and good standing in national or local life.

The College of Arms worked closely with Gray Levett throughout the design process to create a Coat of Arms that was personal to Grays of Westminster and one which would visually identify their role in the photographic industry. It is painted on vellum using ink and 22-carat gold paint decorated by a herald painter, with the text written by a scrivener, the whole process taking a year to create. The College of Arms maintains an ancient English tradition of manuscript writing and illumination which can be traced back to early monastic scriptoria.

Heraldic Description of the Grays of Westminster Coat of Arms

The symbolism within the image depicts a Lion (Gray Levett) amicably communing with the bird of Japan, the green pheasant. The mural crown around the lion's neck stands for responsibility to the public. Its right paw is resting on a camera lens. The cornucopia representing flourishing growth is replenished with flowers that represent various facets of Grays of Westminster and Japan. The tip of the horn has been modelled into an emblematic portcullis for Westminster. The rays of light emanating behind the flowers symbolise the derivation of the word photography, which means photo = light + graphy = writing. The rationale of the badge is an occidental phoenix with two heads for looking both east and west. It bears the motto:

Lead in Order to Serve (Praesis ut Prosis)

The crest, helmet, shield, motto and badge
of Grays of Westminster's Coat of Arms
On receiving the Coat of Arms, Gray Levett said:

“I am deeply honoured to receive this singular recognition for Grays of Westminster at the Institute of Directors tonight in the presence of so many key figures of our profession. To be acknowledged by Her Majesty's College of Arms is something very, very special, and the Coat of Arms will serve as an enduring inspiration for me to continue to offer the very best in service to our Nikon customers.”

About Grays of Westminster

Grays of Westminster, located in central London, a short distance from the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and Knightsbridge, was founded almost thirty years ago by Gray Levett with the idea of creating a world-class camera store, which would offer a service that was second to none. It evolved from a modest mail order company in the mid-1980s to its present, highly-respected position in the photographic industry with over 47,000 customers world-wide, that have included the legendary film-director, Stanley Kubrick, David Suchet, best-known in his role as Hercule Poirot, Agatha Christie’s famous sleuth, Lord Snowdon, world-famous National Geographic photographer Jim Brandenburg, Rod Stewart, and the late 1960s’ icon Terence Donovan.

Community Auto Market – the Easiest, Most Cost Effective and Safest Way to Buy and Sell Used Vehicles – to Launch in the UK

The UK used vehicle market is set to change forever from 14th April 2013, the launch date of Community Auto Market at Kempton Park Racecourse from 9.30am-4.30pm

London - Community Auto Market, the revolutionary way to buy and sell cars, vans and motorcycles, launches in the UK on Sunday 14th April 2013 at Kempton Park Racecourse, Middlesex from 9.30am-4.30pm.

The buying and selling system that Community Auto Market employs is well established in other countries where it has been successfully operating for the past 30 years. Community Auto Market is the first company to bring this highly efficient way to buy and sell vehicles to these shores.

On Sundays throughout the UK, mainly in large car parks of racecourses, Community Auto Market will allow sellers to display their vehicles for a one-off low-cost entrance fee. Buyers can then view these vehicles all day and make their purchase right then and there. There is no entrance fee for buyers.

The main reason for its success is its simplicity, doing away with middlemen such as dealers, classified ads and even second hand vehicle websites while, at the same time, providing a really easy way to buy or sell vehicles.

Community Auto Market is revolutionary in its approach, primarily because it provides a safe public place where buyers and sellers can meet, as well as everything else needed to facilitate the sale.

For the buyer, each Community Auto Market event puts hundreds of privately owned vehicles on display which can be inspected and tested at leisure. All the essential paperwork can also be seen and buyers can talk, face to face, with sellers. A roving mechanic is also available to hire on site to check over vehicles as needed, and the AA or RAC will be there for instant membership sign up if required. Vehicle finance can be arranged through the Community Auto Market website with insurance links provided to secure policies by phone on Sundays.

For the seller, Community Auto Market puts their vehicles in front of hundreds of potential buyers, all for the price of a £20 entrance fee. All they have to do is bring their vehicle’s paperwork with them, namely: Current HPI Check, V5C Document and Road Tax disc, Vehicle Insurance Document, Contact Details (utilities account) and receipts of maintenance / MOT work done.

“Not only will we put hundreds of buyers together with hundreds of sellers in a safe public place on Sundays all over the UK, but we will also provide what must be the easiest, most efficient and cost effective way to buy or sell a vehicle ever devised. No dealer fees, no photographs, no listings, no appointments and no rip-off scams. Just turn up… it’s as simple as that!” says Claire Lore, spokesperson for Community Auto Market.

Starting at Kempton Park Racecourse on 14th April, Community Auto Market will host events in many racecourse car parks on Sundays throughout the UK by the summer. The events taking place in April 2013 are:
New venues are opening up all the time and locations and dates are updated regularly at http://community-auto-market.com/venues/

About Community Auto Market

Community Auto Market brings buyers and sellers of privately owned cars, vans and motorcycles together on Sundays from spring to autumn at popular venue sites across the UK. Everyone knows we get the most for our money if we buy a vehicle from, or sell a vehicle to, a private individual like ourselves… and Community Auto Market efficiently facilitates this interaction.

Gold on Gold: Double Olympic Gold Medalist, Pete Reed MBE, visits Grays of Westminster

Olympic Gold Medalist Pete Reed MBE (right) in the second-hand department of Grays of Westminster with Gray Levett holding Pete's two gold medals.

The Olympic champion and dedicated Nikon user, Pete Reed, visits Grays of Westminster - something he has wanted to do for a long time.

London - Double Olympic Gold Medalist (in the Coxless Four - Rowing) from Beijing 2008 and London 2012 and keen Nikon user, Pete Reed, recently visited Grays of Westminster, the award-winning Nikon-only dealer in London.

Grays of Westminster founder, Gray Levett said, "We were very honoured to be able to welcome Pete Reed MBE to Grays of Westminster. He graciously showed all the staff his two gold medals and we told him what an absolute inspiration he was to us all. The triumph of the British athletes at the Olympic Games created a wonderful feeling of unity and pride within the British Isles; it is he and others like him that continue to encourage and inspire us at Grays of Westminster to push our standards of service and professionalism to ever greater heights."

Pete Reed spent nearly three hours in the shop and left laden down with a number of Nikon gold boxes. In a message to Gray Levett he said:

"You have a wonderful place and a cracking group of people around you and I pride myself on being a good judge of character.  It was an honour to have so much of your time and a personal tour all afternoon and it's great to know that I can come back anytime."

About Grays of Westminster

Grays of Westminster, the multi-award-winning Nikon-only shop, was founded over a quarter of a century ago by Gray Levett with the idea of creating a world-class camera store, offering a service that was second to none. It is superbly located in a quiet area of central London, a few minutes walk from Victoria Railway Station; the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, the Tate Britain, River Thames and Knightsbridge are all within easy reach. Grays of Westminster is not simply a famous Nikon camera shop; it is, to many photographers around the world, an institution. Super Rare 13mm Nikkor Lens Used to Shoot Olympic Champion Pete Reed

The extremely rare 13mm f/5.6 Nikkor lens

Commissioned by Nikon Owner magazine, portrait photographer and rising star, Felix Kunze, uses the extremely rare 13mm f/5.6 Nikkor lens fitted to a Nikon D800 on his shoot of double Olympic Gold Medalist, Pete Reed.

London - Nikon Owner magazine commissioned portrait photographer and rising star, Felix Kunze to shoot double Olympic Gold Medalist, Pete Reed at the prestigious Leander Club at Henley-on-Thames using the extremely rare 13mm f/5.6 Nikkor lens fitted to a Nikon D800.

The 13mm f/5.6 Nikkor ultra-wide-angle lens was introduced in March 1976 in a pre-AI type lens mount. This extraordinary lens was only ever available to special order. The 13mm f/5.6 covers an angle of 118º. It weighs in at 1200 grams and represents the widest rectilinear lens available for the 35mm format. It is 4 inches long (10.2cm), with an aperture range from f/5.6 to f/22.

It has 16 elements in 12 groups; the front element has a diameter of almost 11cm and is surrounded by a fixed 'petal' style lens hood. It has a floating rear element design, CRC close-range correction, a rectilinear element design for straight line rendition and can focus down to one foot. In 1977 the lens was updated to the AI standard, and in March 1982 the third version was introduced with the AIS type mount with four x 39mm (rear bayonet mount) filters: Skylight, Orange, Amber and Blue in a CL-14 case.
It was designed by Mr. Ikuo Mori of the 1st Optical Section, Optical Designing Department at Nikon Optical Japan. Apparently only about 350 of these lenses were ever made.

The location for the shoot was the prestigious Leander Club at Henley-on-Thames. The Leander Club is one of the world's oldest rowing clubs, an institution in itself and a hugely influential piece of British, International and Olympic history. Nestled by the finish line of the Henley Royal Regatta, it also occupies a prime spot next to the only straight stretch of the Thames anywhere. The shoot took place at dawn on a cold November day in 2012.

As well as his illustrious career in the Royal Navy, Pete is a double Olympic Gold Medalist in the Coxless Four (Rowing) from Beijing 2008 and London 2012. He also has the world’s largest recorded lung capacity at 11.68 litres.

"In order to capture the brilliance of this remarkable lens, one of the greatest Nikon has ever made, we needed a combination of a first class photographer like Felix Kunze, a remarkable sportsman like Pete Reed, a superb location like the Leander Club, and a gifted Director of Photography like Mark Gibson," said Gray Levett, Editor, Nikon Owner magazine.

The shoot is the cover story of Issue 41 of Nikon Owner magazine and a behind the scenes video of the shoot can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr-_KTLF_D4
