Marketing and Advertising Agency for Charities and Not-For-Profits, The Help Agency, Launches in London.

New Charity and Not-For-Profit marketing and advertising agency to share profits as donations.

London
- The Help Agency announces its launch today with a strong line up of communication experts, dedicated to helping the UK’s Charity and Not-For-Profit sectors with communication, branding and fundraising campaigns and a brand new idea of profit sharing with clients.

The company has launched with new premises, a new team and a professed new way of doing business.

The team is essentially looking to create top-drawer marketing and fundraising solutions in partnership with non-profits and charities with a moral imperative to generate maximum efficiencies in execution.

This is a company dedicated to helping those that exist to help others. That means charities and not-for-profits only.

“The effectiveness of our work will come from helping to develop Charity and NFP brands from a more positive perspective – ensuring people become more engaged rather than turn away. Our dedicated, 100% focus on this sector will mean our values and drive for results will be completely in alignment with Charities and NFPs.” comments Andy Wakefield the Creative Director of The Help Agency.

The company will be producing fundraising campaigns, Internet solutions, branding, advertising, direct marketing and new product and service development. These campaigns will have at their heart a desire for improved return on budget investment.

Apart from only targeting and working in this sector, there is one key difference that is a real innovation which the agency believes will generate the feeling of partnership rather than mutual respect: sharing in success.

Profit sharing
The Help Agency will also keep their books transparent to clients. Not only that, they will be sharing profits with clients at the end of their financial year. 50% of profit generated will be given away as charitable donations in a way that maximises the tax efficiency on those donations.

“The drive to generate a return ensures we can grow but it also gives us an ongoing motivation to be pushing for efficiency at every opportunity, on every project. In this sector perhaps more than any, efficiency is absolutely vital. Our openness and profit sharing gives clients permission to trust our motivations and to see benefits coming back to them as a result of the success generated between us,” added Dean Hodgetts, Managing Director.

Hugh Dennis – the TV actor and comedian – is a founding director and will initially be playing a non-executive role in the agency. He commented, “It’s great that we can focus our effort on helping people who have decided to help others.”

The Help Agency is currently in the process of setting up meetings with charities and non-profits to discuss projects.

The Help Agency: Key facts at a glance
  • A complete communications team dedicated to the help sector

Team
Many of the new team at the Help agency have produced campaigns for the care and non-profit sectors. This new direction places the emphasis of working with organisations whose primary aims are driven by a conviction to help and provide services for others. The company will not be working in other sectors or helping commercial companies with their ethical policies and campaigns.

Partners
The company has set up a number of favourable agreements with specialist companies in the area of data management, media purchasing, origination services and production services ensuring the right balance of outsourcing to maintain optimum efficiency for client projects.

Directors
Andy Wakefield (Creative): Andy has worked in big, medium and small agencies for over 20 years where he has risen from Art Director to Creative Director.

He has been awarded by all of the major professional bodies including D&AD, New York Festival and Cannes, and has also sat on creative award juries. During this time, he worked on National Children's Homes and The National Society For Epilepsy. More recently he has worked for TK Maxx where he had the privilege to work with Comic Relief, Woodland Trust and Cancer Research UK.

Dean Hodgetts (Managing): Having learned his trade in the big multinational agency groups, Dean has run a highly successful integrated agency for 10 years. A natural communication polymath, his natural curiosity has given him the insight and expertise to help clients unlock consumer response from both off and online communication programmes.
This helping of care-based clients particularly inspired him to take a leap forward in his convictions to help those that help others.

Hugh Dennis (Non-executive): Although now best known as an actor (Outnumbered) and a comedian (Mock the Week, The Now Show) Hugh began his career as a Unilever Marketer, running multi-million pound brands such as Mentadent, and Lynx Deodorant. He therefore has wide strategic marketing experience coupled with a creative head. He is a committed supporter of the charity sector.

Mike Girling (Commercial): Mike has been the Sales and Marketing Director of several blue chip companies. Mike spends his spare time being a Trustee and a Director of a Charitable Trust that runs a chain of care homes. He passionately believes in people, with all their foibles. He has a unique ability to ask the right questions in business situations and help create frameworks for success.
